About
If we have called you, this is the page to read. We are a small research office. We are not calling on behalf of a government.
Fielding Desk is an independent analytical center in Washington. We look at how sanctions and everyday economic life sit together in European Union countries: what has changed in trade, transport, payments, and for companies on the ground.
We are not a government agency. We are not a regulator, a law-enforcement body, or a bank. We do not audit anyone, and we do not tell anyone what to do. We call to ask how things stand, and to set that against public information.
The conversation is voluntary. You can decline the call, stop at the start, or answer only part of it. We do not publish a person’s name. We do not publish at all. The note stays with the client who commissioned the research. If an organization asks not to be named, it is not named.
On the phone we give our own name and the name of the center. If writing is easier, the questions can be sent by email and answered the same way.
Fielding Desk, Inc. is not owned by any government office or political party. We do not advise on how to evade a measure or how to tighten one. We describe what is happening.
